Wheel bridge on road 55 crosses Mälarleden at Hjulstaviken via Märsön and is an important passage over Lake Mälaren. The bridge was built in 1953 and is in need of upgrading, especially with regard to the moving parts. Plans have previously been on a refurbishment of Wheel Station and are now being updated to enable larger vessels to operate Mälarleden. The bridge needs to be rebuilt completely, the alternative is to build a brand new bridge. |
