Preparation of self-calculation

Before a contract is procured, a self-calculation should be carried out. The calculation must be made on the same basis as the request basis, so that a direct comparison can be made between the tender that is then received and the own calculation made.

The calculation must be based on the basis and knowledge of the projected document. The self-calculation is carried out with the help of experiences regarding á-prices etc. from previous similar projects as well as an assessment of the market situation in relation to the project’s geographical location.

Execution contract

The self-calculation is carried out with the help of the developed quantity list and technical description. All included objects / types of technology and their quantity lists with code and heading according to AMA that are included in the tender documentation must be priced.

The price list must be the basis for the assessment of the project’s expected tender price, including cost-impacting conditions in other parts of the tender documentation.

Total contract

For tenders, the tender documents relating to the procurement of the general contract shall form the basis for the self-calculation. If road and rail plans have been developed for the project, its basis calculations can be used as a basis for assessing quantities and costs after content and scope have been quality assured against the developed tender documentation.

For turnkey contracts, the cost estimate for the construction project design for which the contractor is responsible must be included in the own cost estimate for the construction phase, since it is included in the tender that the contractor submits and which this cost estimate must be compared with.
